Type III Anodizing
Type III anodizing, or hardcoat anodizing, creates an extra-thick, wear-resistant surface ideal for demanding environments. It offers superior abrasion and corrosion protection while maintaining the integrity of aluminum parts.
Available in Class 1 & Class 2

Hard Coat Anodizing
TYPE
CLASS 1
Our Type III Class 1 hardcoat anodizing creates a highly durable anodic coating, typically 0.0005"–0.003" thick, offering superior hardness, low porosity, and excellent wear resistance. With no dyes added, this finish retains its natural dark gray to charcoal color and is engineered for components operating in extreme conditions.

Dyed Anodizing
TYPE
CLASS 2
Our Type III Class 2 dyed anodizing, also known as hardcoat dyed anodizing, produces a thicker, harder, and non-porous layer for superior wear resistance in harsh conditions. Often naturally darker or requiring specialized dyes for custom colors, Type III is ideal for extreme-use parts that need both color and maximum durability.
